@nollerd2 said in Tron on Retropie missing some sounds:

Somone on fb suggested updating the mcr.c file any clue what that is?

This is the emulation driver for this game in old mame codebase, updating it means being a programmer.

You need to be playing a 4way game for the option to show in the menu or else it will be hidden. Run a game like pacman then the option will appear.

@Clyde I loved playing Tron in the Arcades, but of course it's virtually impossible to play without the right controls. I've got a few full-size arcades and 1 Arcade1UP and running out of room for much else. Using the GRS products to build a custom Tron controller solved those problems.

I'm also building a Tron/DOT, but I'm reproducing a Mad Planets cab which also has those controls. You gotta bite the bullet and get Groovy Game Gear's Turbo Twist https://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=86&products_id=311 It comes with an interface board. Its the only push/pull solution out there. I have a spinner, and I was going to mod it to push-pull, but tick-tock.

Then you have to bite an even bigger bullet and get this: https://na.suzohapp.com/products/accessories/50-9975-02 you can use any ol encoder for that.

I have all the parts, I just need to assemble it. Haven't had time. I should put the control panel together first then I could share it with you.

      cheers

@johnsorger6 I have used a spinner and joystick in Tron without any issues at all in AdvanceMAME. It sounds like you might have the analog control also mapped to your joystick LEFT which is a default mapping you would want to eliminate in the GUI menu by mapping controls for "this game".

Very nice job on those cabinets! Just Beautiful.
I personally like the Tron one. ;-)

I kinda miss the fighting game cabinet designs. Most guys when they build bar top cabinets they use Nintendo characters or classic arcade game designed decals/bezels. I would love to see a nice Street Fighter or any NeoGeo fighting game designed cabinet.
Another thing I wonder is the button layout out. Is that chosen on purpose or just matching the decal design?
I cannot imagine to play all too long on such a cabinet without getting wrist pain. When I used to build my own arcade sticks I always went with the Japanese stick and button layouts or the same one like Hori does for their sticks. Check here.
