My USB always has two versions of every file?
In file manager, when I plug My USB in I see duplicate files of everything.
There's always two and one of them always has the *._
Note, I'm using a mac. And for some reason I'm thinking that has to do with how macs save files, AND that the *._ versions are just empty lists or something like that, but I can't seem to find this information anywhere, either in the forums or on google.
I'm just trying to make sure those files are garbage. Thanks in advance.
@chrisdodgen they are, you can remove them.
An easy way if you're comfortable with the Mac terminal is to look for how to clean dot files on a Mac, recursively.
Yeah definitely not comfortable enough with the terminal for that.
But to confirm, it IS indeed a mac thing? The reason these are showing up, that is?
@chrisdodgen yeah. Very widely known.
If you search around here for dot files or Mac temporary files you may find some solution to delete them on your Pi as well.
@pjft Hey thanks a lot man. Now I know what the hell to search.
Although I'm sure it doesn't matter much.
@chrisdodgen well, you still want them not to show up in EmulationStation, as it makes navigation harder, so definitely look it up :)
Actually, they don't.
When I transfer via USB, the autocopy feature doesn't duplicate them. They only exist on the stick.
And when I do manual transfers in file manager (of bios or themes), I ignore them, so no sweat.
