AdvanceMAME v.3.4 stretching screen?

@caver01 Thanks for that. Seems like a great resource for artwork. It's not really what I'm after. I was more trying to enable a generic bezel / side bars for advancemame. I have them for most consoles & arcade stuff, using FBA / Mame2003 , NeoGeo etc. No biggie. Doesn't impact on the playing experience, just my OCD!

@AlexMurphy actually, that is what you want to use, but it is way more complicated with AdvanceMAME. Download one of those artwork zip files and crack it open. It contains images and a config file that is used to layout the position, brightness and so on. There are also a couple of threads on this forum about when @UDb23 was exploring this before he switched to lr cores.
-
@AlexMurphy I think this kind of thing just got way easier after MAME .106, and retroarch changes everything.
-
@caver01 Yeah, I had a quick tinker with the
I, Robot
one. I don't have the time at the minute to fully configure it but there is a .png and a .art file in there. -
@AlexMurphy I hear ya. I can't be bothered by this, but I have edited a couple art files and re-zipped for backgrounds. Since I use AdvMAME for all vector arcade games, it is nice to have the backgrounds for OmegaRace, Asteroids Deluxe, but they are too bright.
-
@caver01 Yeah, RetroArch / libretro kinda has us a bit spoiled! I just expect the same or similar functionality from other emus and that's not always what their point / goal is!
-
@caver01 I only looked into advmame because you bang on about it so much! Joking aside I think it is great and the control configuration is excellent. I use dual analogue sticks for
Battlezone
and it works brilliantly. -
@AlexMurphy I still use MAME2003 as my standard, but when a rom fails, vector, or complex analog controls needed, AdvanceMAME is there!

Battlezone
and it works brilliantly. With a controller that has shoulder/triggers that makes sense, but I don't have that luxury with arcade controls, so I use <CODE_NOT> mapping to control the tank with a single joystick freeing up my other hand for buttons. Same technique gets used for Vindicators, Toobin, Sarge--any tank controls that need fire buttons.

@caver01 Totally agree. I was only joking about you "banging" on about it! It is a solid MAME for those "difficult to configure" games. I really appreciate the direction.
