      Hey,

I'm very new to this, be nice :D

Just put on retropi onto my Pi1 with 256Mb RAM. Star Wing is the only game it seems to be struggling with, which I did figure would happen as it's a known issue. However, I'm also reading online that the Pi2 and Pi3 have problems running star wing too fast.

Has anyone been able to play Star Wing correctly on the Pi? Pi2? or Pi3?

      I have searched btw.

      Thanks

@skezza I've not had issues with StarFox (US name for StarWing). What specific emulator are you trying?

I'm just trying the default snes emulator. I've not changed anything.

Are you running a Pi1, Pi2 or Pi3? I'm tempted to invest in a Pi3. I already have a Pi2 which is used for my TV media player, maybe I could use that as my retro gaming device?

@skezza "the default snes emulator" doesn't really help us here. Press Select + X while playing a game and the RetroArch GUI will come up. The name of the emulator and version will be at the bottom of the screen.

A Pi 2 or Pi 3 will perform much better for SNES emulation. I generally use a Pi 3 for day to day stuff. I only use a Zero for handhelds.

The "too fast" issue has been fixed.

So an update, the emulator is snes9x2002. I tried with 2005 and 2010, both of which performed significantly worse.

What is the best emulator for a Pi B with 256mb. I assume it's snes9x2002 ? If that won't run StarWing then I assume nothing will. Regardless, what's the best for just standard Mario games etc. I tried both and 2010 and 2002 work fine with those simple sprite games.
