neogeo.zip bios file

I have the neogeo.zip in my arcade folder and it shows in the game list. Do I need the neogeo.zip?
I'm a newbie to the Pi and Retropie so bear with me.

The neogeo.zip must be in the same directory of your neogeo ROMs. Otherwise your ROMs for neogeo games won't play.

So if I mainly have MAME games then I shouldn't need it at all? I'll put it in the neogeo roms folder and any of those from that option in the main menu.

@clshores Yes, you only need it if you want to play Neo Geo games.
