Can't get anything to respond after initial setup
-
Okay, I'm having my first attempt to get a RetroPie machine running:
Pi Model or other hardware: 3B
Power Supply used: 5.1V/2.5Amp
RetroPie Version Used : 4.2
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website (4.2 for Pi 3)
USB Devices connected: Keyboard, mouse, PS4 controlled
Controller used: PS4I am able to flash the image from Mac (I've used Apple Pi Baker and Etcher) and mount the filesystem (after it tells me that root filesystem is being resized and wait 5 seconds). I'm able to configure the pad and get the Emulation Station UI. I will try anything in the UI (for this example, configure WiFi). WiFi configuration finds the WiFi hotspot in my house and allows me to enter the password but will not actually connect to the WiFi. When I Exit to go back to the WiFi, the UI will not respond to any commands from the previously configured PS4 gamepad, and the UI will also will not respond to any commands from the keyboard except for F4 to quit. A number of the error messages that flash by quickly seem to indicate the logs and other things can not be written because the filesystem is mounted read-only. Anything else I try in the UI after boot responds similarly - I get one shot to do something, it doesn't work , and then I'm left in ES with no viable option but to F4.
A read-only mounted filesystem makes sense as to why it wouldn't remember a previously configured gamepad or keyboard, won't connect to WiFi because it can't write anything to a wifi conf file, etc. However I have no idea if this really is the case, or how to fix it.
Help?
Thanks,

@kgb badly written / corrupt image, or bad sd card. Did you try another card ?

That appears to be the case. I re-flashed the image many times, but a new card did the trick. Funny that card had worked fine before.
Thanks!
