The long awaited 4:3 version of the Comic Book Theme is finally completed and available for download here: EDIT Now available through the retropie menu. Be sure to update your retropie-setup script.

I have decided to start a new thread dedicated to the 16:9 Version. Here is the link to the main thread: New Comic Book Theme!

This is a fully updated and optimized theme with just about every single system you can imagine included. See the readme file for a full list. Also include are "Hacks" systems as well as Capcom and CPS systems. The theme is built for Video and optimized for 2D art. The theme has also been optimized to run smoothly on standard settings without adjustments to VRAM. Thanks to the new updates to ES by @pjft i have been able to run 62 systems without issue. If you haven't updated ES, be sure to do so as it is a great update. Please download the theme and let me know what you think. I want to run the theme for a few days and get comments back before submitting this to be incorporated into the retropie menu. Stay tuned for a second "Special Edition" release of the 4:3 version that will be optimized for users with marquee and wheel art for all systems. Also look for a separate post for the 16:9 version. (please note: do not pay attention to the gamelists and art, i simply copy a system in my es_systems.cfg file and rename the theme for testing and image purposes)

I love how you added the mascots on this one. Very smart and elegant! Also, all of them are quite appropriate - you must have spent quite a bit of time researching :)

4:3 Theme updated Same link as above in the first post.

Ok, so i have to apologize, i have learned a lot in the last hours bout github, and i am slightly embarrassed. I spent hours cleaning up all of the files and folders in the themes prior to release to make sure they were clean, spotless, all the files located where they need to be, and no unnecessary files hanging out taking up space. PROBLEM: i was using the web based github browser and assuming that when i replaced an entire folder, it was deleting the folder and updating it with the new contents....WRONG - it was simply adding and changing, not deleting, so what you are seeing is a lot of garbage in the folders.

I have now learned how to use the desktop app for git, way faster and now i can see exactly what i am doing. NOW both versions of the theme are posted with only what is needed and nothing extra! If you want to re-download, you will get a smaller file size. You can also wait for me to get this onto retropie menus if you prefer.

I apologize for this confusion, it should not affect the use of the theme, but is rather embarrassing.

How do we go about making new system images? is there a template we can use? or do we submit a request?

I need to make system images for:
              Atomiswave
              Naomi
              Neo-Geo CD

Thank you for such an amazing theme, it is still my all time favorite theme, absolutely love it.
