Quake 2 stopped working !!

Hi all, i have quake 2 on my playstation rom and it use to be working ( sort of, ps4 controller problem with quake still ) but at lease it was starting ok.
What i have done is that i had installed quake 3 from ports and then also installed lr-quake from ports and had to uninstall and reinstall from ports and now somehow, my quake 2 from PS does start but before it get to the start game screen, it just shut down and it goes back in the game list screen of the playstation.
What can i do to solve this please ?
