Is there a difference in the gameboy and gamboy colour case?
-
@AlexMurphy Sorry what I meant was in the shape of the case :( Sorry.
-
@CodeDrawer Well, yeah, they are different sizes. The GBC is about 10% smaller than the GB.
-
I see. That may be a problem. I might start with a game boy then try to make a GBCZ
-
@CodeDrawer I would say definitely start on the larger one and hone your skills.
-
@AlexMurphy I agree. Start with a home console first. They're bigger, don't require the complexities of a screen or power, or even sound. Get that all figured out, then move to more complex stuff. Based on the kinds of questions @CodeDrawer has been asking all over the forum, they either don't understand how to Google anything, or are very new to all of this, or both. It's encouraging to see others wanting to join in the hobby as well, but don't set yourself up for disappointment by biting off more than you can chew with your first project.
-
@obsidianspider I am actually starting with a NES like I said. I also asked if there was somthing related to the actual shape of the console that might not be addressed in the specs.
-
@CodeDrawer The Color is closer in size to the Pocket. The difference is that the Pocket used AAA batteries and the Color used AA, so the back of the color bulged out a little to fit the batteries. The bottom of the Color was also a little bit more rounded.
-
@obsidianspider You're certainly not helping by belittling him rather than just answering the question.
-
@thedeathstar Thanks, but @obsidianspider has a point, but I do what I think I can do.
-
@CodeDrawer We want to help, but sometimes a quick Google search can give you the answers you seek.
-
@thedeathstar google can answer all of the questions that anyone has about this sort of thing.
I made a 3d printed gameboy case, I didnt have a gameboy to model it on, yet I managed to do it without a single forum question in either forum, it was one of my first projects in a new piece of software, yet not a question was needed thanks to google.my advice to the op is that if you can use CAD, download someone elses model and have a look at it, if you cant, then buy a case on ebay and have a play.
-
@obsidianspider Again I tried, but I couldn't find anything saying if there was a shape difference like a curved battery cover, stuff that can't be told in the dimensions.
-
@CodeDrawer get yourself a free cad program such as 123d, google something along the lines of "gameboy cad model" then have a look
-
@obsidianspider And sometimes just answering the question takes less time than a long winded diatribe that doesn't answer the question.
@spruce_m00se I guess I didn't realize that this forum was just a way to link people to the documentation and google.
-
-
@thedeathstar if people would learn to read documentation and look on google well then the forum would be less cluttered.
my last advice was sound, if he follows it he will learn something.
-
OK sure I messed up. I did some reasearch. I couldn't find anything. Please don't get too mad.
-

@spruce_m00se One that is exactly what I needed! Two, being Canadian, I hope you didn't make up the name to sound 'Canadian'. Which if you did, you didn't do it well. Thank you very mush!
-
@CodeDrawer lol, made up my name to sound canadian! as if I care about Canada.
it is actually my gaming name that I have used for the last 20 years or so for online gaming.
It is a play on the spruce goose. and my gaming clan all had names that sounded like spruce goose.
