I am still learning how to use retropie and it's awesome!
The thing is, I am having some problems with PSX emulator.
Every game that I try to play freezes for like 1~2 seconds and then it comes back. This happens constantly. Also I am using the SCPH1001 bios. Others are working just fine like SNES, Mame and even N64. Bear in mind that it's not a stuttering problem, It freezes everything and then the game continues and after some seconds freezes again and so on.

I have already tried changing my power source which is 2.5 Amps.
      Doing a fresh install
Changing the SD card, which is a 64GB class 10
Playing on a keyboard instead of using bluetooth
      Overclocking
      Using pcsx_reamerd instead of lr-pcsx-rearmed
      Installing recalbox

Well, I also want to say that the first time I installed retropie, it was working perfectly.
Once I tried activating force_turbo this started to happen.
And nothing that I do works. Maybe a fault RAM ? Is there a way to test it ?

My PI is a model 3 B+ with simple heatsinks and never had past 85 degrees celsius.

By the way, I've seen some people with the same problem, just a few ones, but they didn't fix it I guess.
I can also record a video if you want.

      Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Don't overclock the Pi 3, it is not needed and can mess with the emulators. And try the lr-psxrearmed emulator with default settings, don't use any of that image smoothing or texture upscaling junk, it will just slow everything down. The retropie default settings are very well optimized, there's little need to do all that custom work. I use psx on a pi with everything default and i've never encountered a stutter on the pi3.

@battlefrog i had the same problem while using a Dualshock3 with wireless connection.
As soon as i wired the controller the games stopped this random freezing.
What kind of controller are you using!

I was just running some tests to see If I could get better perfomance with N64 games, and then, It messed with psx :/

I am using a dualshock 4 with SONY's official BT dongle and running with the default lr-psxrearmed configuration.
Like I said, it used to work just fine, but once I tried force_turbo for the first time this started. I never activated it again and did a fresh install, but it didn't work.
I also tried playing with a simple keyboard instead, the problem persists.

So, after some testing and reading, I guess the problem is the SD card speed. Although mine is a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB Class 10 I had to overclock the card reader. This thread helped me. Anyways, I might also try loading through a external drive.
