Keyboard does not work after quitting retropie and n64 emulator

USB Devices connected: 4TB external drive that is auto mounted
- It may be important to note that I symlink the roms folder to this hard driveController used: PS3
Error messages received: No Keyboard functionality after starting n64 emulator and then quitting back to the shell.

emulators.cfg: https://pastebin.com/fKgEgtjWHow to replicate the problem: start n64 emulator then exit back to emulation station and then quit emulation station. At this point at the shell I have no keyboard functionality.
