So I connected an older Sound Blaster USB audio dongle to my retropie to get improved analog audio. I was able to get the menu clicks by creating the a asound.conf file and I got retroarch to work by manually setting the audio_device in the retroarch.cfg. The only thing not working is the video preview audio. Anyone know what I'm missing? Thanks!

@HemiJJ Found another method here https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Sound-Issues under the Alternate USB Audio Method. Basically instead of telling the system you want to use the second card in an asound.conf file, you use the Alda-base.conf to force the USB audio to be the first device. I Was also able to remove the changes made to the retroarch.cfg. Much better method!
