yea, cheers for responding. File list is below

Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 1).srm
Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 1).state

I have other save states but are just .state1 .state 2 etc

My bin and cue (which I have moved to a diff folder) are

Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 1).bin
Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 1).CD1 (I renamed the cue file as per instructions on m3u files)

@matthimself I would try copying and then renaming Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 1).srm to:
            Final Fantasy VII (USA).srm
Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 2).srm

            one of those should work.

the states (.state) aren't going to be relevant on other discs so we don't need to worry about that.

@matthimself so what are you loading up when you want to load this save? disc 2?

i'd also try it without your sub-folder. everything in the psx directory.

no - when I go via the retropie menu its playstation>Final Fantasy 7, theres no option to go disc 1/2 or 3. It just shows up as one game

i would go back to the beginning. get it how it was when before any changes and make sure your save still works.

@dankcushions thanks for the help boss-it's working now. My save states were named incorrectly.

                      Yep.
