N64 Rareware Games

On my Linux machine (My laptop running Ubuntu 16.04) it runs Rareware games almost perfectly (Rareware had some proprietary code back in the day on this system most emulators can barely handle. Specifically pertaining to games with special effects like Conker's Bad Fur Day. Which is a fowl-mouth revival of an old MS-DOS Rareware game mascot with a new twist.) with Mupen64PLUS. Now the reason why it works so perfectly on a laptop with worse specs than the pi is the plugin Glide64MK2 a.k.a. "The Final Version of Glide64". Needless to say with, and without a Raspberry Pi Retropie horribly fails N64 emulation. It can never seem to run anything N64 correctly. Which is when I took a look to see why this was happening. I wound up noticing that Retropie fails to give you plugins that have not been around for longer than 7 years. Meaning the Retropie's plugins are 7 years old, or older. Glide64MK2 is only 4 years old, and is the best video plugin. Maybe the next update should include this plugin. I mean you are using Mupen64PLUS right? and that plugin is the default to Mupen64PLUS.

Does your laptop run on an ARM processor with about the same processing power as a Pentium 2 from 1999? You'd probably get about 3 frames per second output using the most modern codec on a mini project board like the pi.
If a solution that simple and obvious doesn't exist, it's safe to assume somebody has already tried it and failed.

not true. for example, GLideN64 was first released in 2015. it's still in development now (and is actually by the same developer of glide64mk2, so could be considered glide64mk3 i suppose)
