All games load to a black screen. I can go to the rgui menu while in the black screen. It's with source build 1.54.1 bc8c0d5. The 1.53 485ae78 binary works.

Pi3, Retropie 4.2.7. Using 4.2 Kernel from 4.2 image. It's not updated because latest kernel breaks the gamecon driver.

Bump, then if no response, I'll post on the retropie github, if that's the appropriate place. Still happens with latest build.

@darksavior libretro cores break all the time which is why we recommend installing binaries as they are known to be stable. Unless there is something specific in the most recent changes of a core there should be no need to build from source.

All the same we don't maintain cores. If they are broken they should be reported upstream

@herb_fargus Ok. I wanted to try using the msu1 music on a few games. Not sure if the current binary supports it.

@darksavior from what I understand it should but not sure how well it's supported:

I made the problem known on the official github but the person can't reproduce the problem, and told me to try one already built from libretro. In trying it out, i get the error relocation error: /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-snes9x/snes9x_libretro.so: symbol _ZNSt7__cxx1112basic_stringIcSt11char_traitsIcESaIcEE10_M_replaceEjjPKcj, version GLIBCXX_3.4.21 not defined in file libstdc++.so.6 with link time reference

Might this be a reference to not having the latest gcc?
