Raspberry pi screen
-
Hi guys. I have just bought a tablet and wondered if this would work. I have a raspberry pi and I wondered if I had a hdmi cable on the pi that connects to a micro usb adapter that plugs into the tablet, would I be able to use the tablet as a display, if not what would be the alternative. Thx Mk

@maxmwk12 I guess that would depend on the tablet you have. It would have nothing to do with retropie. I have no experience trying this but can mini USB to hdmi even transmit in that direction. Typically this type of cable takes a signal from your phone or tablet and outputs it to a tv or monitor. Not sure that it send segnals the other direction? Your tablet would have to be able to switch inputs.

Most adapters out there converts USB signals to HDMI (or other video format) signals to output video to monitor/TV. I have not known an adapter that converts HDMI signals to USB. If that can be done, you will also need a software in the tablet to interpret the USB signals back to video for the tablet to display. Also, said HDMI-to-USB adapter cannot be DRM compliant as it will be a means to pirate copyrighted video contents.
