While playing Final Fantast VIII on the psx emulator I can't access the battle menu. When I press start, I can see it but it can't be used and when I go back into live game play it disappears. Anyone had this issue also?

@sagoannahs you want to use the battle fix core option. select + retropad x (on a ps1 controller is the top triangle button) to get to the retroarch menu, then 'options' and enable the 'battle fix' (or something like that) option. then exit the menu with select + triangle again, and quit the game. then it should work :)

@dankcushions I've read that somewhere else also but that didn't fix it for me.

@sagoannahs oh wait; are you using the enhanced graphics options? you'll need to turn the speed hack off. on my pi3 it still seemed smooth without it on, in that game at least.

@dankcushions I've tried that also. It's off. Haven't had any luck with the suggestions that are already out there online.
