Is the GBA Bios needed anymore?
-
So to my shock I had found out that the GBA had a bios that is to be used in the emulators. Yet I can run GBA games just fine without the bios. Should I still install the bios? If I don't could it perhaps have a negative effect, such as save files not saving or loading?

MGBA (the default emulator on a pi2/3) has a reversed engineered bios built into it. Its not perfect and you may run into some compatibility issues with some games. If all the games you run are working fine, then you may not need a real bios, but having it maximizes compatibility.

I find that I have issues with running some GBA roms if I don't use the BIOS.
-
So can the bios be like this? gba.bin or does it have to be gba_bios.bin?
-
@RedBatman
gba_bios.bin is working for me with defult emulator -
I don't use bios and my GBA works good
