ShowFPS = True
it should be False :) but also, you shouldn't add it. the setting is already in the file - you need to find and change it. it is near the end I think.

@dankcushions
Silly me, i copied the entry from github but did forget to change it to false :-)Anyway, i've now changed the entries (2, one under [Video-GLideN64] and the other in [Video-Rice]) to:
ShowFPS = False
But no change whatsoever. So: in Mupen64pluse with Glide64 video plugin it still shows FPS. For your information, here is my mupen64plus.cfg file

Keep it enabled and try font size 0-1. mupen64plus.cfg setting will be overwritten unless you edit mupen64plus startup script or disable mupen64plus_compatibility (/opt/retropie/configs/all/autoconf.cfg).

@gizmo98
Thanks for your input. I've re-enabled the 'ShowFPS' tag and set the font to '=1' but no change neither.
I think I'll leave it like that, seems impossible to disable. -
Still having this issue with the fps displaying on retropie 4.4.1. It rewrites everything in the config when you boot a game. Why would they force you to have to see the fps???

@dankcushions yes i saw that. But no matter what, the settings are always rewritten on game boot. And im not sure how displaying the fps can fix a bug??

yes, the script makes sure these crucial settings are set every time.
And im not sure how displaying the fps can fix a bug??
it's strange, but it's been proven by the developers. gl is complex.

@edmaul69 the fps counter only partially fixes the issue with gliden64. Games will still crash after 10-20 minutes if framebuffer emulation is enabled. Have you looked to see if the fps counter can be disabled in the mupen64plus.sh file? Although as dankcushions stated removing will cause more problems.

@quicksilver if you change show fps to false and save as soon as you start a game it changes back
