-
Hi everyone, I tried dfferent tutorials and bioses but still only black screen for couple of seconds and retropie is showing list with Sega CD games .I tried both emulators and the same reslut .The game I have is The Terminator which I like verry much and was waiting to play on real tv
I am using Raspberry Pi 3 model b
Power Supply used:ZEQI ADAPTOR model ZE-25
Retropie version is 4.2
Built From:Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected:Twin USB gamepads ,wireless keyboard -
I have 'The Terminator' (great game btw) running under SegaCD emulation using lr-picodrive.
The md5sum of my SCPH1001.BIN is 924e392ed05558ffdb115408c263dccf.You can run:md5sum /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/SCPH1001.BINfrom the command line to compare.The md5sum for the BIOS files are listed at the link @edmaul69 lists below.
-
@N.A.R.E.K.96 this tells you the bios names they need. Make sure you are putting them in the bios folder.
-
@mediamogul that's the ps1 bios...
@N-A-R-E-K-96 Works fine here with lr-genesis-plus-gx.
-
Apparently I was trying to make my own hybrid system. The world just isn't ready for the Sega Playstation.
-
@mediamogul but it would be equally as freaking awesome as the nintendo play station. I am curious about the new atari system coming out.
-
I can't wait to learn more about the Atari system. I figure it'll just play their old library, which is fine, but the foolish optimist in me is hoping for an all-new Atari gaming revival.
-
@mediamogul i found proof of a sega playstation. 😄
-
@edmaul69
I renamed bioses as there but only black screen,I evan reinstalled retropie -
@N.A.R.E.K.96 did you try both emulators?
-
@edmaul69
yes and md5 of my bios files for both emulators are correct so I can not understand why it is not working
-
@N.A.R.E.K.96 how are you putting the bios files on and where?
-
@edmaul69 I am putting them in bios folder and copy with USB Flash Drive and by the way PSX and GBA are working fine
-
@N.A.R.E.K.96 I hate to be a broken record, but it's a BIOS issue. I had the same problem. It's likely because there are three different regions with two emulators, and each game may require a specific combination of emulator and BIOS. Sega CD is tricky to get working, and each game requires different emulators to work.

it's possible the bios files didn't copy over. so to be sure, check with the file manager, or drop to a terminal (press F4) and type:
md5sum RetroPie/BIOS/bios_CD* RetroPie/BIOS/*cd1_*
it should read:
e66fa1dc5820d254611fdcdba0662372 RetroPie/BIOS/bios_CD_E.bin
bdeb4c47da613946d422d97d98b21cda RetroPie/BIOS/bios_CD_J.bin

@Panther7 thanks for pointing that out, i wasn't even aware since i've only ever used the lr-genesis-plus-gx emulator for this system (and only for a handful of games, The Terminator being one of them). i have edited my post with this new information.
@N.A.R.E.K.96 also look into your .cue file, and be sure the file names are correct and proper case.
more general info about this can be found here: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/PC-Engine#pc-engine-cdshort of all that, it might just be a bad cd dump. test with a different one if possible
-
@N-A-R-E-K-96 as @chipsnblip said open up your cue file. If your bin file is called DrAcUla.BiN you need to have it say that in the cue file. Linux is case sensitive so caps and lowercase are very important. Even on the file extension. It is common for the cue file inside to say .BIN AND the bin file is really .bin

@edmaul69 file name is Terminator, The (1994)(Virgin)(PAL)[!].cue is this wrong ?

@N.A.R.E.K.96 can you show exactly the name of the iso file. That is what has to match the inside of the cue file. If you are using an emulator on windows caps and lowercase wont matter. Linux it matters. If this all checks out, then the bios is where your problem is.
