      Hi all.

I've installed RetroPi 4.2, and got it setup and working with an IR remote (using Lirc) the remote is configured, and works ok in RetroPi. That means, I press a button and the selected item changes as expected.

When I load into Kodi, the buttons on the remote work. but instead of one key press per button press I'm getting more than one. This makes it impossible to control Kodi, as the controls are far to sensitive. I've had a look and can't see how to solve this problem.

btw, I did try installing OSMC and got the remote working find with that. However, I don't want to have to dual boot to switch from RetroPi to Kodi and back again. Would rather have one single OS installed - when I tried OSMC, I couldn't setup RetroPi as it caused sort sort of kernal panic and crashed everything. (I'm happy to try that again if the problem of the panic has been fixed)

it seems like for some reason KODI is seeing two remotes, thats why the two presses. i know that KODI has a built in IR support. ( i use a IR remote for just KODI so i know it works)

i think you might want to try and disable the controller support. that is the only thing i can think of. i know i had to do that way back when it did not like the XBOX controller. i just cant remember where that was.

in theory it should clear up your problem, as KODI is seeing the IR as IR and also seeing the Lirc input as well

I'm trying to get my Harmony remote working with an IR diode as well. I don't suppose you have any resources for me to get it to work? (works on OSMC btw)

@cjdawson Please post your Kodi log (http://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file) and also describe everything that you have connected to the Raspberry Pi.
