When using the "Update all installed packages" option in RetroPie-Setup and saying yes to "Would you like to update the underlying OS packages (eg kernel etc)", is that the same thing as running:

      sudo apt-get update
      sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

from the command line? I have been running the above command first, and then updating all installed packages and I want to know if this is redundant to do so.

@BuZz Thank you, I will just stick with the update all installed packages then :)
