"Random Game Selection" wanting global setting (not within console)
-
I installed a new Retropie Image on 7.13.2017 and have setupscript 4.2.10 . I updated EmulationStation from source on 7.14.2017
My, "press X button for random" from the console selection screen, chooses a random console. Then within the console, I can press X again to select a random game within that console category.
However, in a previous setup of Retropie, pressing X would choose an overall random game from any console. (It would switch between consoles). Is there a setting that I can obtain this feature, to randomly select a game from ANY system ?

@muehltime If you want to achieve that, the way to do it now is to go to the "All Games" system and press "Random" there.
You can enable "All Games" in the Game Collections menu.
The overwhelming feedback on the random feature was that it was more useful within the system altogether, and with the addition of an "All Games" system we were able to make the change while still catering to that.
Best.
EDIT: @muehltime what theme are you using, though? Not all themes have yet been updated to support Game Collections, so it may be the case that it won't be formatted unless you either update it or edit the theme yourself.

I was just going to ask about the Theme. That is the error I am receiving at the moment. I was using nbba, didn't work. Then I switched to Carbon since that is the default, didn't work.
Do you know any themes that do have it?
EDIT: @pjft disregard. I found some themes that say they have it. Is this a new feature? Lot's of themes haven't updated to it yet.

@muehltime
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/11477/es-themes-ready-for-favorite-all-games-recently-played-and-custom-collectionsYou can help and name some themes that do not support the new systems :)
We hope that lot of the creators will change their themes and add the support for the newest features. -
@cyperghost Thanks. very helpful. Related side question. When I select to install Eudora-Upd. theme, it simply fades back to EmulationStation rather than install. This happens on a few other themes on the install page. Do you know why? Is it taken down at the moment?

Sorry - had the reply in draft.
Yes, this was added less than a week ago perhaps, so it's just starting to trickle down.
Thanks @cyperghost for replying in the meantime, as well as for starting that thread!
EDIT: I don't know where RetroPie-Setup downloads Eudora from, but you can download the updated version here:

@pjft Excellent. Is there a way I can mark this topic 'solved' with the green icon?
-
I think you need to edit the first post to change its type to "Ask as Question". Don't know if it can be done retroactively.
Then you should be able to mark it as solved.
Hope you enjoy the new changes!
