      Im about to pull my hair out over this, I have an ipac two, out of the box I configured it in ES as a keyboard, just for player one and it worked fine. I then tried to get player two working, and with no luck, nothing I tried worked, i tried manually updating the .cfg over SSH, I tried to bind the inputs in retroarch, I cant get it to work.

      I then tried to update the firmware of the ipac to 1.34 to allow me to set it as a game pad. I set player ones keys as a keyboard and player 2 as a gamepad, then configured them in ES, then player two controls player one, but in a funny messed up way.

      The only way I have been able to get it to work up till now is to use Meleu's joystick selection and set my ps4 controller for player one and the gamepad from the ipac as player two, then I use the keyboard for player one and the gamepad for player two and just dont touch the ps4 controller, however if I remove the os4 controller it goes ape again,
      and the setup wont work in psx, the buttons are all messed up. also in the NES the start and select move,

      is there a definitive guide to how to set this up?

        @spruce_m00se to setup player two for retroarch you need to manually do it. Open up /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg . Scroll down to the player one keyboard controls. Cooy them and paste them right under player 1's controls. Now rename them from 1 to 2. Then start changing what each button is to match your player 2 controls.

            @spruce_m00se can you post that all/retroarch.cfg and a retroarch.cfg from a system you are having problems with?

              @edmaul69 I deleted it all again last night when I got it working (kinda) in the way explained above.

              but I had done exactly what you stated above, and changed it to the inputs recieved from teh ipac in notepad,
              I may have another go at it later.
              Do you know how to setup the ipac as two controllers? does it just recognise as two ?
              or does it show as one, but map the inputs to the second controller?

                @spruce_m00se I had the same problem, if you edit the file as described by @edmaul69, it does work. You need to post the file so we can see what changes you made. Here is the method I used a while ago....
                https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/1722/if-you-have-purchased-an-ipac2-and-want-to-save-time

                Also, syntax matters! Check your quotes....
                input_player2_up = “r” - BAD
                input_player2_up = "r" - GOOD

                    @spruce_m00se Why do you need to back up scraped roms? You back up your retroarch.cfg.
