[New theme] playstation

@edmaul69 download and reinstall. I hope thats all the systems for you. You can also let me know if anything is broken as I have not tested any of the new systems.
-
@lostless will do. Thank you.
-
@lostless i really hope this doesnt upset you, as it is not my intention. sooo ive been busy the last couple days. i have created a 640x480 / 320x240 version of your theme for the crt guys as long as you are ok with it. i removed all of your images except for your system.png files. i used screenshots from the web and with a lot of cutting, pasting and pixel, pixel, pixel and theme editing it finally came to fruition. i only have 3 background images. no floating images at all. if this is released i would like to consider it a co authored or you can stay listed as the only author. doesnt really matter to me. you are the one that spent forever making the logos. the crt guys get screwed on the pi since they get stuck using bland tft themes to be able to read anything. plus i wanted it for me too as i absolutely love the ps1. anywho here are screenshots. the bottom ones are in 240p on a crt. the crt images are a little dark as it is nighttime here and this tv is in my sun room. iphone takes horrid pics of a crt using an rf cable since my other cables havent shown up yet. it looks like a real ps1 in person.
-
@edmaul69 edit all you want. plus over the vast majority of images were from other themes that its seems we all use as theme makers. i found the exact ones online searching. LOL. My suggestion, don't make the non selected icons shrink so much. And the large one looks too big. Maybe experiment with 2 on screen and move them left a tad. Looks good. if you want to release it, just credit me for the paint splatters.
Oh and on the game screen, maybe swap the games and logo. Just make sure to change the one for retropie as that has the config image that lays ontop of the game file. so check out that xml file as well.
Is this your first time, like me, messing with themes?
-
@lostless how do you adjust the shrinkage. I used your theme as the base and didnt adjust that. I would love to make them bigger.
-
@lostless i actually made seperate config and game backgrounds with the names as a part of the image. I will swap them though. I thought about that before. Wont take much to swap though.
No this isnt my first theme. I have done quite a bit of stuff over the past few years. Im not familiar with a lot of the new changes with es themes though.
I signed up to github but could not figure out how/where to upload anything. Maybe because i was on my phone.

<feature supported="carousel"> <view name="system"> <carousel name="systemcarousel"> <type>vertical</type> <pos>0.00 0.020</pos> <size>0.400 0.92</size> <logoScale>1.2</logoScale> <logoSize>0.25 0.1</logoSize> <color>00000000</color> <maxLogoCount>3</maxLogoCount> </carousel>
see logo size. It means it will use up to 25% of the screen x axis and 10% Y. The Y wins. The logo scale is how much it will grow. 1.2 is 120% bigger than that main setting. put it at 1 and it will not shrink or grow. I don't know if you can disable the opacity.

@edmaul69 git hub is easy if you have the app on your computer. I just have the folder on my computer, open the git hub app and anything thats been changed it recognizes and asks me if i want to commit my changes with a description on them and then once i do that, i hit sync. Haven't done it with the website.
-
@edmaul69 maybe shrink the x size to 0.33 and see if that works. that'll make it not go past 1/3 the screen.

you went the route i did before i decided to make it all scaleable.
-
@lostless so i had made the carasoul logo bigger to be readable on a crt, but it didnt make the other 2 logos bigger at all. Not sure why. I will try shrinking. I already fixed the logos on top for games and configuration so all i need to do is mess with the carousel.
-
@edmaul69 Have fun. we can make this a joint venture. Cause those little icons are each unique (color design wise) out of only 6 basic shapes i made (so I'm a tad lazy). Too bad i will probably never see over half of them again as I don't use half the systems I made.
-
@edmaul69 How do games look on these crts?
-
@lilbud im not sure yet. I only have an rf coax cable at the moment while waiting on ebay. And when i had the pi hooked up i forgot to remove the crtpi shader. Doh!!
-
Anyone have an idea of when this theme will be officially released via the installer?
-
@aengeon i'm trying to figure out how to do a pull request. I'm new to git hub and lost. HELP!!??? Also I need to do an update. I've been fiddling with the theme after helping @edmaul69 with that Version that looks closer to an original ps1 menu. So I will probably release an update in the next 24 hours.
-
@lostless once you figure it out let me know so we can upload the crt version as well. The latest version i uploaded fixed the gamelist alignment to line up centered to the balls for the dithered backgrounds.
-
Hey all, I'm making the custom collection theme folder. What should the image be? Maybe a rack of game, pile of folders, I don't know? Taking advice or make your own and share.
-
Now released on the Es themes menu. Added the custom collection folder for when it is officially added.
@edmaul69 to add (I give you permission) 😄, you need to fork retropie-setup on github and edit the file. So go to retropies github and browse retropie-setup to scriptmodules/supplementary/esthemes.sh
There you see a list of users and theme names.
Hit the edit button, which will automatically fork a version for you, and add your user name and theme name. Save and it'll ask if you want to do a pull request with the original.
Thing is that the name of the theme must be
es-theme-themename. No -master. So reupload or see if you can rename the theme. I'll get you a low res of custom collections soon. -
@lostless i will do that. Thanks.
