How to put games in the scummvm folder on retropie...
-
So I am wanting to install the game, Zork: Nemesis into ScummVM. I am going to use the instructions from this address: http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Datafiles#Zork_Nemesis:_The_Forbidden_Lands
However, I have a few small questions so I don't waist my time beating my head against the wall. Do I create a directory in the ROM folder for all the zork files, or do I just dump them in their? Do I create a folder called "extras" and "addons" for the fonts? It makes it sound in the instructions as if their should already be an "extras" folder and an "addons" folder, but there is none in the ScummVM folder. By the way, I am going to be using the CD version of the directions one I figure out how to build the file structure, or if I even need to. Thanks for any help you can offer. -
@kevinshope with my scummvm files (I mostly have humongous entertainment games) I leave the data in their own folders so I have a folder per game, it will create a file when you run the games through the scummvm gui anyhow do that's how it will map to the data in your folders.

From what I can get from the wiki, is to copy the mentioned files and folders into a new folder. Then get the subtitle patch and unzip it into the same folder. For the fonts I would make an extra folder inside the game folder and use the game settings (not the general settings) from the gui to point to that location.
I never used a combined extra folder because i find it easier to maintain when they are in the corresponding game folder. -
I always setup scummvm with one game per folder but it also adds multiple entries for some games when "Mass Adding". With Sierra games you'll often get a combination of DOS, CD or CoCo versions of a game. The "checks" to determine the correct game qualify it for more than one game so it creates multiple entries with different names for the same single folder game. Then just delete extraneous entries and keep the most relevant one to the version you own.

I got the game running that I was thinking of putting in there. What a blast from the past. You have to create a folder for the game and then just put everything in there that the instructions tell you to. Then point the program to the folder and you are golden.
