Pi Model or other hardware: 3
      RetroPie Version Used (4.2):
Built From: #would like to use custom 240p image depending on answer of query
      Controller used: keyboard

      Hi all,

I have a sync query regarding connecting retropie to a multi-sync monitor via VGA

      I have a tri-sync Rodotron arcade monitor:
      monitor page

Also image of user guide timings:
      0_1501856716138_rodotron sync.jpg

From my understanding, I need to output this at 240p. My rodotron is connected to the pi via a HDMI-VGA adaptor.

After reading many forum posts (some seem to be from before Pi could output at 240p). I'm wondering if I only need the VGA adapter? From what I've read, I no longer need a VGA downscaler, I can set the Pi to HDMI mode 8 for 240p 15khz and its good to go.

Does anyone know if that will be suitable for my monitor?

The thing that is throwing me off is whether my monitor is classed as CEA or DMT. Most posts I've found point to using HDMI group 1, mode 8 for 240p, but this may be for people using normal old tv's and mode 9 seems to be the widescreen version, not 8.

If my monitor is classed as DMT , i cant see any modes int he following list that correspond to 15khz, 240p:

      video mode options

Any help for a noob would be greatly appreciated. Also if you feel a different resolution that my monitor can handle would be better for MAME/SNES/psx on an arcade cab, then please feel free to recommend.

      Cheers
