I-Pac PS/2 ?
-
have an old I-Pac without USB connection, only PS/2 connector
is it possible to connect it to a Pi with a PS/2 to USB adapter?
any problems with lag or other problems? -
@dorkvonwaterfall it might not be a ps/2 only. On one of my ipac2's i cut off one end of my ps/2 cable and wired it to a usb connector.
Just an fyi with your ipac model, (with the big chip) the thing is susceptible to static shock so dont put it into a metal case that it is grounded with. I learned this lesson when i wired one of mine to the coin slot on my japanese metal neo candy arcade machine. I static shocked the machine and fried the chip. I had to buy some extra chips from ultimarc to fix it and have a spare. The newer ones have a protection added to them to prevent this.

@dorkvonwaterfall my IPAC4 has the ps/2 plug, but he wire I have adapts it to USB. You could always email Andy at Ultimarc and see what limitations you have. If you can use USB via the right cable, it’s a great interface. It is keyboard only and you won’t run into problems with it accidentally being detected as a gamepad.
