I want to set my right analog stick's click button to enable turbo for the "a"/jump button in Super Mario 64 in any way possible. I've spent over a day scraping the web for info on this, but have had absolutely no luck. Here is a breakdown of my situation:
      -Raspberry Pi model 2 B
-Recently installed/burned (so I presume latest) Retropie 8 GB micro-SD card
-Logitech Dual-action controller (http://imgur.com/a/AVXVn; subtract 1 from each for right number in configuration files)

      -/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/Logitech Logitech Dual Action.cfg - https://pastebin.com/7T8iJtHY
      -/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg - https://pastebin.com/1FR0nrhv
-In the retroarch.cfg file in configs/n64 is a volume modifier, nothing else

      Currently situation in-game:
-select + start (8+9 in config) quits the game
-select + 5 (5 is right top bumper thing) saves state
      -select + 4 loads state

No other "hotkeys" work. I cannot get autofire/turbo to work, let alone even bring up the in-game retroarch menu. I've googled for hours. Someone please save me.

@arcanate the default n64 emulator is standalone. it is not retroarch. it has no retroarch menu.

you can use the libretro (retroarch) version if you want via the runcommand. it is called 'lr-mupen64plus', but it has worse performance and compatibility.

Is there some way I could give myself a turbo button without switching emulators or buying a new controller?
