I'm trying to run Final Fantasy on the MSX. This game requires a MSX2+ machine.
-If I wanted to run openmsx with a MSX2+ configuration, what BIOS files would I need to download and which folder do I put these ROMs in?
I'm assuming that it requires something similar to the bluemsx BIOS list, however I am not sure that I initially downloaded all the necessary files required, if this is expected. If so, I will try to find and match these files.
-What filename does openmsx expect these files to be named in order to be properly referenced? (MSX2P.rom vs msx2p.rom, for example)
My first guess was looking in the config.ini file for the default machine openmsx looks to(Japanese Panasonic FS-A1WSX), however like my first problem above, I am unable to fully recognize the file names with the files downloaded to ensure compliance.
-One solution I have tried is converting the program disk into a cartridge with dsc2rom. It runs fine on bluemsx, but I can't save normally because it requires a separate disc, and I can't save state because the hotkeys are not working.
I've read that openmsx has save state functionality, but when I run the converted rom file, it throws up a error, something about nonexistent BASIC, I can't quite remember, but a simple search of the openmsx does not mention this error, nor does any other website. So I'm guessing it doesn't handle these conversions very well.
Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.
