retropie x86 all games are running in a window not full screen

Only been at the retropie scene for 3 months so sorry if i am a noob.
Everything was going well full screen just like my pie i'v put tons of games on my laptop and played with no problems i couldn't fix by searching the web and this forum.
2 days ago all of my games now run in there own window and i cant figure out why. its loading the games on ubuntu desktop.
