      @ilackiq I'd be willing to bet that the traces are still connected, although you can not really tell one way or the other from your photo. Did you take photos of everything without all the tape on it? I can't really give any advice beyond what I have without seeing everything.

        Why is your orange cable connected to +5V of the fan?

          What are you talking about? The only orange cable I used was connecting the two + pins on the switch board. There is another cable that looks orangesh-brown that I used to connect the switch board to the mosfet.

                @ilackiq try removing the pi completely. Nothing connected. Make sure the power switch is off, then plug in the power to the back of the case. Does the led come on?

                  My reset button is isolated and NESPi turns on and off fine. Reset button is on GPIO 5 and grounded. After I installed the shutdown.py script (curl...|bash), my Retropie boots to the 4 raspberries and then shuts down. I tried to get it to boot in safe mode but can't get to a CLI. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

                    It was the wrong shutdown script that caused the shutdown on startup.

                        @elvycoll Consider to buy a NESPi+ case
                        Maybe you can buy a Pimoroni SHIM instead...
