No sound 3.5mm to rca

Raspberry pi 3 running retropie 4.2, Had to reinstall retropie to my micro sd because after updating I had no video through composite, video is working fine after the new install but now I have no sound, is there a setting I have to change for this to work?

@anthonyp555 in emulationstation, press start, go into sound setting. Turn volume up to 100% it is really low at the default 77%. Also go into retropie menu, go to sound and in there set audio to 3.5mm jack. Those are the first two things i would try.
