Portable Clamshell Arcade Cabinet
-
I wanted something that I could close up and pack away easily. I haven't added the carry strap yet, still thinking about it. I am pretty happy about how it turned out. Kept the theme simple and limited the decaling. I did all the hardware in brass, thought it looked kinda spiff against the black and red.

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

@tanstaafl Hey, this thing is cool! Nice job. I like the sloped control panel to get the joystick and buttons down low enough to clear the screen. Is it heavy? I once considered a clamshell design after seeing one on the BYOAC forums that was built out of a case for a hunting bow. Does the display panel half make it tippy? I remember the design I mentioned needing extra weight in the front under the buttons because the whole thing would tip backwards when the display was opened. Is there a handle?

Wow that's cool! Good job!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! @caver01 It is under 15lbs and one of the things I did when designing was to insure that there was a 'balance'. You would have to literally shove it over to make it fall, but to insure that is simply can't fall over I added a small wing in the back:
Cheers!

@caver01 Sorry, didn't answer your last question, no handle yet. I have purchased one, and I have a carry strap also and am torn between which one to use. I am thinking that the handle is the best way to go. Will post when I finally make up my confused mind.

@tanstaafl
That's looks amazing, how well has the design weathered usage after 8 months? Also are you planning on doing any break down of the insides of the cabinet? -
How are you, friend, I congratulate you, it is an excellent and elegant job, I am writing to you if you can help me with the measurements and the model of the rear part as it is, or if it is too much to ask, could you share the plans of your great machine with me?
