@ruckage Not sure if this could be of any use to you or not but...

@skj I think this is it: https://www.reddit.com/r/miniSNESmods/comments/735r90/snes_mini_sprite_palette/

I'm still fairly new to RetroPie, so there might be a really obvious answer to this.
Is it possible to have an icon and background for "Collections" with this theme?

Is it possible to put individual icons for an individual collection? I have a SNES Classic Collection here but it just shows a random game.

@fatwhitelump
Hi. In answer to your first question - I'm actually working on custom collections right now.
Regarding picking the preview art for collections, I don't think so.
It's possible to have individual icons/backgrounds for each collection that shows up on the carousel but that would involve me creating individual icons/backgrounds for every possible collection which can quickly get out of hand. I will probably do a few select special collections but not just yet. -
@ruckage i myself would be more then happy with a collections menu like some themes do so you go to collections and all collections are listed in a list. The need for individual collections I feel are not necessary as a collections menu works and doesn't hurt the theme look and would be a lot easier on you to make then making each custom collection.
For now I turned off my collections in favor of you theme too good to changed just for collections
-
@ruckage Oh, cool. Glad to hear collection support is coming.
I wasn't expecting you to make custom collection icons, that would be insane, I was just curious if it was possible to set my own.

Thanks, that's exactly what I'm working on. I'm just sorting out an Icon, logo and backgrounds.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem so, though @pjft would be able to give you a definitive answer in the collections thread: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/11321/theme-changes-attention-theme-makers-upcoming-game-collections-in-es

Sorry to hijack a Retropie theme thread but @ruckage will you be bringing this and the NES theme over to Recalbox also? I'm sure many including myself would donate for your efforts.
Regarding the Retropie theme, looks amazing! I was linked here by ETA Prime who gave you a shout out on YouTube.

@n0signal
I'd really like to and have promised to do so in the past, I'll need to look into it more though to see how the version of ES differs for recalbox as the version of ES retropie uses has had lots of changes/addition the past year and my themes rely on a lot of the new additions in order to work correctly. -
@fatwhitelump For question #2, it will select a random game from the collection each session, and will also fill out the description dynamically.
-
@ruckage Thanks!
-
I tried to install the theme and it shows up white everywhere?
-
@333timo not sure what I did wrong but my other themes have folders for specific systems and this theme does not
-
@ruckage love the theme will we see an Amiga/Atari ST/msx images on the main system select page soon ?
keep up the awesome work because it must have taken serious time.
-
@333timo you need to update ES.
-
@333timo Update EmulationStation. The offficial website no longer posts current builds for Windows, but they can be found here: https://github.com/jrassa/EmulationStation/releases/tag/continuous

@ruckage Lovely themes (this, and NESmini). However, this theme (and NESmini) are missing Sega Saturn. I know Saturn does not work on RetroPi but it works fine in Windows/Linux-x86 (RetroArch for Windows, and x86 Linux I believe, has a working Yabause emulator core).

This works differently to most themes and doesn't require individual folders. As @pjft and @elranzer said make sure you're using the latest version of ES. If it's still not working are you sure when you extracted the theme that it didn't extract into a nested folder? When you open the theme folder it should show a list of folders and files. If you open it and it shows a single folder then it's nested, just copy this nested folder and paste it into your theme directory.
