Raspberry Pi 3 Vs Orange Pi Plus 2 which will run the best.
-
I'm one of those poor souls that backed the RetroEngine Sigma. After about 2 weeks of research and loading RetroOrangePi 3 from scratch I have it working. However anything that has 3d graphics (N64, PS1, PSP, DC) either works well, or don't work at all.
From what I have read the "sigma" is an orange pi lite, so maybe my issues are that the hardware is under powered? I was thinking of buying either the Orange Pi Plus 2 or a Raspberry Pi 3 and trying that.
Which one will let me load and play games the smoothest?
I will say that even though the Sigma was a rip off it did force me to try the Pi Architecture so at least that's a positive thing.

Better late than never ;) unfortunate you were scammed, especially by someone who took our work and bastardised it for profit.
But yes I would recommend a pi as no amount of extra specs will replace quality software support and a vibrant community.

@artoria That's a bummer to hear man. My brother backed that way toward the beginning. I've been working on his Pi Zero for months now and that got me into the Pi. I'm just wrapping my head around all of this because of that, but he just got his RetroEngine Sigma last week and wanted me to work on that. I was hoping that it wouldn't be to difficult a switch from the RetroPie, but then I heard on Pat the NES Punk that it was an Orange Pi and none of it was set up and you had to do it all yourself and there was no Orange Pi community like here.
I might tell my bro he's on his own for that one.

I don't know much about it since i don't own an orange pi but have always been interested in getting one just for fun. It seems like a common thing that people are repurposing products with free software from others, as well as partially releasing unfinished products with out support.
