With the newest revision of the controlblock, rpi 3, and latest retropie, is there a way to add a selector switch to switch controller configurations or maybe even a script when a certain platform is selected? I want to be able to switch controller between Nintendo and Sega.

      Thanks!

So far, there no direct interface for switching the gamepad type. However, this could be done, for example, by handling USR1 and USR2 signals in the driver. This, in turn, would allow to use the kill command in a script to switch to a next configuration ... The driver needs to be extended for this, though.

The new GamepadBlock supports switching between the various controller modes via a virtual COM port.

For the ControlBlock a Bash script could be written that changes the controlblockservice.cfg file and reloads the ControlBlock service. I have not had time to work on that yet, though.
