Other Doom Ports Possible on Rpi3?

Good evening!!
Ive been on a search for a while now for the best port to play doom in....
I know Retropie got zdoom and prboom but
Zdoom works fine and all on low resolutions probably because it is being software rendered
But i am looking for a way to have GLES Renderend
something like gzdoom or zandronum those wont work on Retropie i think?
But what about another way?
Like on a different OS maybe rasbian? -
@retrofreak89 someone did list getting gzdoom working. Not sure how good it was. I heard chocolate doom is on the pi too but i know nothing about it.
