So My Megadrive Games are the problem, cant delete file and games are not showing up
-
@ehnam13 what is the file extension of your ROMs?
-
@ehnam13 Re-reading your post I'm actually not 100% sure what your issue is. Can you explain it again, but better? Is Megadrive showing up on the carousel in ES? How are you transferring the ROMs? What has the scraper got to do with it?
-
@jonnykesh when I go to my pie via Ethernet I Go to the Roms folder. select Genesis and the folder is empty. When I try to add a game say..3 Ninjas it says the file exists already. When I load the Pie to my Tv It list all the games. But they wont play.
I have uninstalled lr-picodrive and re installed it but that didnt work. This is my third Pie and this has me stumped. thanks again for any Help. -
Are they .zip files? If so, you’ll want to unzip them.
-
@livefastcyyoung they are Zipped, but the zipped files worked in the past. Plus I have tried just putting a Unzipped file in the Rom Folder /Genesis and it says [The operation can’t be completed because an item with the name “6-Pak (USA).gen” already exists.]
-
@ehnam13 What says the file exists? If there are no ROMs in your folder the system should not even appear. Check in your Genesis folder, it is symlinked to Megadrive.
Delete the gamelist.xml for the Megadrive.
Are you using some sort of RetroPie file manager? -
@jonnykesh Yeah the system does appear, and lists the games.. its the weirdest thing. No File manager. I remember putting the roms in there. they just dont appear.
-
@jonnykesh Not sure how too Delete the gamelist.xml. I assume its in the Config file but there is no Gamelist.
-
the even weirder thing, the file says its empty... but when I go to add a game it says its already there....
-
@ehnam13 it's not in the config file. It's either in the Megadrive fokder or in /home/pi/.emulationstation/gamelists Apologies again but you are not explaining yourself very well. I'm assuming English is not your native tongue and perhaps details are being lost in translation.

@ehnam13 what says it is already there??? How is this message displayed? What is the actual message?
-

/home/pi/.emulationstation/gamelists
No worries thanks for any help. On my computer the Roms folder. Genesis the file is empty and it wont let me transfer a rom/game(says its already there) even though the file is empty.
On the Tv in Emulation station, the sytem shows up listing 526 games. I can click on a game and it wont load. -

This is the meassage i get trying to transfer a rom into the Genesis file
.{The operation can’t be completed because an item with the name “3 Ninjas Kick Back (USA).zip” already exists.} -
@ehnam13 what program on your computer are you using to transfer the roms. You havent told us that and that is what he has been asking you.

@edmaul69 Im on a mac connected via Ethernet. My pie is connected via ethernet My Mac is on the same .. Every other game system works fine adding games.. FBA,Dreamcast,NES i have set up games this way, worked great.
This is the3rd Pie I have set up and its For me and it gets wonkey. :D -
I find macs gave issues with Linux symbolic links on smb shares. They show up as blank folders. On the pie the genesis and mega drive folders are the exact same folder. Only a tag in Linux that makes the genesis and mega drive folders one in the same from the os point of view. Like alieses on mac or shortcuts on windows, but deeper rooted. It doesn't just point like the other two.
So do Everything in the mega drive folder.
