How would one go about resetting the favorites list. I have added quite a few before scraping and it seems that those added beforehand do not show metadata. Is this a known issue? Is there a way to easily clear that list and start over? Thank you for your time.

Only thing I would suggest is press that button to remove it. That would be the safe way...

Favorites are saved individually to each game record in your gamelist.xml file for each system. It's basically just a tag in the gamelist.xml file. Using the EmulationStation to remove it might be easier if its not a ton of favorites. Other wise you can manually edit the xml files.

My kid was mashing the Y button on controller 2 when i exited a game back to the ES menu, he cleared out my favorites list of like 30 games in about 4 seconds. I suggest just mashing Y until they're all gone.

I'd unfortunately second @Capeman 's suggestion. Enter the favorites list, and just press Y until they're gone. There's no way to clear it in a single step.

If you scrape those games again though it might clear the favorites flag, depending on the scraper you're using and whether it overwrites existing metadata. That's also an option.

Why exactly are you trying to clear them, though, just out of curiosity? Removing and adding them back won't get you any metadata for those games. You need to scrape them. Probably they weren't scraped as setting then as favorites added them to the gamelists, and the scraper might skip games that already have entries there?
