SEGA CD question and regular question
-
I have just two questions. Please don't be upset if this question has already been answered. I'm brand new, I took a little time to search around and see if it's answered already. I couldn't find it. I apologize if I didn't look hard enough.
Basically, I have had trouble getting Sega CD music to play on Retropie. I think they call it redbook audio? The CD tracks don't play. In several of my games, next to the cue and ISO files in the folder, I see all the mp3 tracks listed. I read online they need to be in WAV format. So I converted them online and stuck them all back in the folder and to no avail, it still wouldn't play them in game.
Then I noticed Amazing Spiderman for SEGA CD was playing perfect and all the CD tracks played in the CD player of the SEGA CD interface. When I went to look at that folder, I noticed there wasn't a long list of WAV files for all the CD tracks. Just a simple CUE file and BIN file.
So now I want to know if someone can direct me to a place to download SEGA CD games that already are set up with just a CUE and BIN file together instead of a bunch of music files that you somehow have to convert and then create a BIN file with.
My other question is: Does anyone know how I can tell what version of Retropie I have? I got this Pi off ebay already set up and I have no idea how recently it's been updated.

@dogeymon You are correct. Use
.bin
&.cue
files. Nobody here is going to tell you where to get them unfortunately. You just need to search. -
Oy. Ok thanks. Also what about knowing what version of retropie I have?
-
@dogeymon Run this command in the terminal
cat /opt/retropie/VERSION
-
-
@jonnykesh how do I access the terminal?
-
@dogeymon Press F4.
-
I typed in cat/opt/retropie/VERSION and hit enter and it just says
No such file or directory
-
@dogeymon You typed it in wrong.
cat
space/opt/retropie/VERSION
-
Ok haha I would never have known to put a space
It worked now thanks. Now I have to figure out to update it
-
Oy......sorry I should have known that (it just slipped out). I got overexcited. Sorry that I’m off to a bad start :(
