      That's not the problem, tried it as well. I'm going to do a sound sample on video so there is more clarification.

          It sounds like the sound is cutting out completely, it's possible it could be hardware related.
          You say you have it hooked up through a roku TV, have you tried connecting directly to the TV to rule out the Roku being the problem? It may also be worth trying a different HDMI cable to rule that out as a cause.

            It is a Roku TV using HDMI and the sound barely works on RetroPie. You can watch the video and it will have audio samples.

              @ruckage The entire TV is a Roku on itself. It's made by Insignia.

                In that case first try a different HDMI cable. If it still doesn't work try it on a different TV, that way we can narrow down where the problem lies.

                  Can you fill in the details requested from the https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first as @glennlake has already requested. By failing to do this, it is making it very difficult to diagnose.

                  These are the details required:

                  Pi Model or other hardware: (B, B+, 2 B, 3, X86 PC etc..)
                  Power Supply used: (If using a Pi)
                  RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest):
                  Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website, Berryboot, or on top of existing OS etc.. - please provide the filename of any image used)
                  USB Devices connected:
                  Controller used:
                  Error messages received:
                  Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant):
                  Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide)
                  File: (File with issue - with FULL path)
                  Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable)
                  Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS)
                  How to replicate the problem:

                          If changing the HDMI cable worked at first then that suggests it could be a problem with the hdmi socket either on the PI or the TV. Do you have another hdmi port on the TV that you can try?

                            I think it would be useful to note that the menu plays noises perfectly and the video goes extremely smooth.
