Black Borders inEmulationstation
-
Hi
My station is running pretty well expect of one thing.
I got black border around the screen. You know not the 4:3 just like the resolution wont fit like its 1895x1028 or something like that.
Here like this picture.
hopefully you guys can help me and I am not really familar with this terminal thing -
@nerke That's not ES or Retropie in your screenshot, btw.
To be able to support you basic information about your config are missing.
Generally "borders" issues are related to the overscan settings you are showing in your screenshot. Have you tried to change those settings (e.g. setting left, right, top, bottom to 0) ? -
@udb23
Thanks for you Quick answer. I know it's Not Es but an similar picture.
I dont know were to change this setting. -
@nerke You literally have the config file opened in the screenshot - this is where you need to modify them. Comment the
overscan
lines (add a#
at the beginning of the line) and reboot. -
Hmm shit I got this error now.
Lv10: Error initializing Sdl!
Lv10: Renderer failed to initialize!
Lv10: window failed to initialize!
I changed the gl driver.
The good thing is, I dont have Black borders anymore... -

If you installed Raspbian and RetroPie afterwards, then make sure you installed the Jessie version, RetroPie is not supported on the newest Raspbian release (Stretch).
