How do I edit the system art?
-
OK I got how to make another directory to separate the roms for the systems for other regains with the /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg.
Im just using the snes art just renamed the folder.
Now I just need to know how to change the art? What are the dimensions?
Will I have trouble with scraper with my roms seperet folder? -

you know when you pick a system. It has art of the system logo. I want to change it to another one.
Like I said before so far i just copyed the other system art and renamed it to the new folder. ex. renamed the nes to fc (famicom).
I want it to be different then the nes one. I think the art is in the same directory also. I just don't know how to edit those files. You prob need some sort of program to convert the image. I also need dimensions so it doesn't crop or something. -
@deltax5 Just change the images inside the theme you are using. I'm kinda lost, you really aren't making much sense. Are you saying you set up a Famicom system but it has NES art and you want Famicom logos etc? Then just swap the images for the ones you want.

there under /etc/emulationstation/themes/carbon
each system has it's own folder. one file named theme.xml and a art folder. in the art folder there are 3 .svg files named system2,system and controller.
There is prob some sort of program out there that converts a image to a proper way for retro pi to read it? Convert the image to those files.
Maybe im wrong. im still new to this all. what should I do? -
@deltax5 I'm aware of how the images in the themes are stored. An
.svg
file is a scalable vector graphic. The Pi is obviously capable of reading them or it wouldn't show any images. It will also display.jpg
and.png
files.
What actually controls which images are shown is the xml file. It tells the system which images to show, at what size and where, amongst other things. -
