x86 pc - ubuntu 16.04.3 - dbus message error
-
Pi Model or other hardware: X86 PC - old laptop Dell E1705
Power Supply used: (If using a Pi) N/A
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.3.1
Built From: On top of Ubuntu 16.04.3 32bit
USB Devices connected: keyboard, mouse, 1 controller
Controller used: Retropie recognizes it as a DragonRise Inc. (generic arcade controller kit from ebay)
Error messages received: process 1806: arguments to dbus_message_new_method_call() were incorrect, assertion "path != NULL" failed in file ../../dbus/dbus-message.c line 1340.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.Guide used: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Debian
How to replicate the problem: start retropie, terminal shows error message on start. Computer freezes if you try to configure controller.
Notes: A week ago, I had Lubuntu installed on the PC and Retropie running on it. However, I was never able to get the screen to maximize. It would only do about 3/4 of the screen. I suspected this was a limitation of Lubuntu's terminal window.

Any thoughts? Should I upgrade to Ubuntu 17.04 or is it a 32 bit OS issue, or maybe a bug with retropie?

Ordered a processor that will support a 64 bit OS, and then I'll install a 64 bit version of Ubuntu. Will see if this fixes the issue...
