Orange Pi PC and RetrOrange Pie
-
Ok so I have a couple of questions...
Is RetrOrange Pie maintained by the RetroPie team? I would assume that it would be but not all eggs hatch chickens either...
I saw the test of the "Seedi" system on youtube. From the looks of it the system used an Orange Pi Lite. The Orange Pi Lite has half the RAM of the rasp pi 3 but is faster DDR3 ram. The host played a psx game and it seem to run smoothly..other systems not so much (sega CD and pcengine CDs) which of course retropie handles fine on the Rasp Pi3.
So I looked into it..the OrangePI PC has the same "stock specs" as the rasp Pi 3. And it is a little bit less expensive than the Pi3. But from what i understand the GPU on the Rasp PI 3 is better. shrugs
So I guess what i am asking is does anyone know? I want to hold out for a PI 4..but if it is a little less expensive and the software support is gaining ground (I think) it's extremely tempting.
Any thoughts or info on this one?

Just depends on how much you can/are willing to tolerate. Nothing will beat the pi for software support as the pi is the hardware retropie was primarily coded for. But if you're just looking to tinker, it's under $100 so it's not like you'll be breaking the bank if you decide the lack of software support made it a failed investment.
