MS All-in-One Media keyboard working but not F4?

Hi Guys - just got my retropie setup yesterday and now trying to get a command line prompt but cant seem to get my keyboard to get there after hitting F4, or twice, or it and followed by any key etc.....

The controls work in the main menu, but need to get command prompt so I can hopefully edit some config for loading roms from USB....Anyone can help?

ps you don't need to edit files for this - actually i'd recommend you didn't! follow this instead: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive/

sorry, but did you hit the Fn button with F4, because MS keyboard works like that.
