8bitdo NES Pro EXTREME input lag
-
What firmware version are you running on the N30 Pro? Perhaps try the latest v4.01 that has the following fix:
Firmware 4.01
Fixed input lag problem when used with other controllers. If that doesn't work try rolling back to v2.0. I no longer have the N30 Pro but when I had it it was fine with v2.0 firmware.

I was on 4.01 and rolled back to 2.0 but I think my controller has problems, now I reinstalled my retropie backup and tried to register the controller and it can't even find it...

I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but the controller just started flashing red, so the battery was low and it had neven been charged before, I'm going to give a full charge and later I'm going to try again to see if it makes a difference.
I was getting connection issues by the end as it didn't even want to connect to the pi, I'm not sure if a low battery would cause such issues, when I made the video yesterday the controller was still blue, though...

Looks like it may have been a low battery issue all along, atleast it seems to be behaving much better now, strange... I would assume that any issues if any, should show up after the low battery warning and not before...
-
@t0nito You could try to connect it to the usb port directly and redo the controller configuration. This way the controller is recognized as a usb gamepad and not a bt controller.
If there's still input lag then i would return the controller for a replacement.

@rion It seems that after a full charge the controller behaves as it should, but when the battery is getting on the low side (even before turning red) it starts lagging and sometimes you press a button momentarily and it's like you are keeping it pressed. When it starts doing this I know I have to recharge again.
Maybe the bluetooth emitter starts losing range as it discharges and starts misbehaving, I don't know...

Just get rid of the controller since it's not that good and definitely not worth the price they're asking when you can get better like the Logitech F710 or even PS3. I had the N30 Pro and luckily only paid $20 for it.

@mi7chy I only bought it because I have a Nespi case and it would be the perfect match for it, I do have a generic Wii Pro controller and a N1-3017, those work great, but I want the 8bitdo to be the main controller. But I must say that it did disapoint me especially because it many has good reviews, when it's fully charged it's OK, but after using it for a while it starts lagging, the lower the charge the higher the lag.

Hi guys. I’m new to the forum and stumbled across this post. I know it’s old but I’ve got this exact same problem.
I have the nes30 pro. The lag is unplayable. Sometimes it works fine then sometimes it just does it’s own thing and wanders off. I’m using an 8bitdo Bluetooth dongle since the built in Bluetooth on the pi4 was impossible to get working with this... and also I have a nes30 controller too which was totally impossible to sync up with Bluetooth.
The nes30 controller however works fantastic with the 8bitdo dongle... but the nes30pro just does not work good at all.
Both controllers have had the firmware updated also.
I’m stumped how the nes30 works great yet the nes30pro is really bad. I’ve disabled the onboard Bluetooth on the pi4 in case it was interference of some sort?
Anyone had this problem and got around it? These controllers aren’t cheap either which is more annoying as I’d like I to work.
Thanks.
