      EDIT:
      Hello everyone,
I can't find any information on how to do this too. Anyone?

@bobibrown Why didn't you simply add your reply to the linked post? Your new post title offers absolutely no clue as to what kind of help you need. Please edit your post, give it a better title, and maybe someone will help.

I don't know the answer, but you will get better/friendlier responses if you don't "bait and switch" with a post like this.

          Read this. https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/71418/how-can-i-remove-the-gui-from-raspbian-stretch-with-desktop

The desktop is a collection of many, many different packages and would be a pain to remove completely. It also takes up very little space and can be handy sometimes. This link is related to the newer version, Stretch, but is still sound advice.

@caver01 It guess it was automatic since the original post was "too old", I did reply to the original post to begin with. I don't know what happened from there, or where my actual message is. I'm new here.
EDIT: Oh ok now i get it, my message has become the title of this new post. I don't understand I just hit the reply button.

@jonnykesh @caver01 I found this on stackexchange too:
            sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove --purge 'libx11-.*'
            sudo apt-get autoremove --purge

(Repeat apt-get autoremove --purge until no orphans remain)
Is it safe to run those command without breaking something in retropie?

Thank you both for your answers

@bobibrown RetroPie does not rely on any of the desktop stuff as the image obviously comes without it.
As usual on stack exchange there are many different views and a LOT of caveats. It's totally up to you whether you run it or not. What's the worst that could happen?
Personally I would leave well enough alone and I do actually use the desktop myself from time to time.

@jonnykesh MMh ok, I guess I'll have to keep it on my system then. Thanks for the advices.
