      Hey,
So I picked up a Vtech Vsmile system at a flea market for 10 dollars, it only comes with one game, which I havent played yet because it also lacks the power supply ( i will sort that out )

      My questions are:

      1. does anyone know if this system can be emulated in retropie?
        and
      2. how can I put all games that are in ES into one menu all nuched together?

the games for this are more pricey than the games for the wii, it doesnt seem to make sense to buy a load of them, so if I can emulate it then all the better, if not, I may use the controller and case with a pi zero and just bung all the "dora" and "mickey" type games on it.

@spruce_m00se I think I saw somewhere online that there was a VSmile emulator, not really sure.

Doesn't matter to me, I still have the original and all of the games. :)

@lilbud hopefully someone will get the emulator working in ES,
I got a power supply on this one, and it didnt start up, it turns out that the cart slot is incredibly sensitive.
its just about working now, the only game it came with isnt bad .

I read that v smile was emulated on a version of mess years ago on pc but had no way to use a controller. It might be working on mame on the pc . My son is 12 and has autism. He loves his v smile but the systems keep breaking . Emulation would be great .

@beamquaker the one I have seems to be poorly made, but the only game it came with seems like a gooden, the girls love it, i just got some on ebay, they are on the way, hopefully equally good.

@spruce_m00se Most of the games on the V Smile were crap. But there were a few really good platformers.

For little kids like yours, I'd suggest the V Smile Art Book. It is art software that comes with a plastic tablet and stylus.

@lilbud I was looking at that on ebay, I might pick it up. I think that a four year old is happy to play whatever, especially when its her console not daddies 3d printed NES that she isnt allowed to even breathe on.
Her fav game will always be Sailor moon in mame on the arcade macheine though. We play a lot of that.

As far as I can see, the V-smile can theoretically run on lr-mess, but as of Mame 0.189 (on PC, mind you) input doesn't work and 99% of the games crash before they even get past the bootup animation. On top of that sound isn't emulated, graphical glitches are common, and the boot animation is noticably slow. You can see my one successful game bootup here.

I don't think there's any other emulator for the V.Smile yet, so unfortunately you're just going to have to wait until someone comes along to improve emulation on MESS/MAME.
